Euro Lambretta 2021, Fort William, Scotland. 11-13th June 2021

 Just received my copy of Jet Set magazine which includes the application form for Euro Lambretta in Scotland next year. Does anyone fancy this event? I was not considering riding that distance obviously, but we could hire a large Transit van to get at least 4 scooters in the back. Please leave comments below over Christmas if anyone is interested as the application forms have to go back in by January 11th 2021. We should all have had our Covid jabs by then, so I think the event will go ahead.

Club Meet Up .Thursday,1st of October.

While some of us were keeping the country going, others were out and about enjoying themselves...

 

With a favourable weather forecast ,dry,low wind speeds and cool,it was decided at Tuesdays meeting to meet  at the Bikers Cafe at Pontblyddyn between 10.30 and 11am on Thursday .We will probably head in the Llangollen direction.With the latest Virus news being we won't be able to meet up easily from 6pm on Thursday, this may be our last meet up for a few weeks.

Andy Wallbanks mystery tour of North Wales. Any club member wanting to take part in this ride should meet at the Bikers Cafe at Pontblyddyn  at 10.30.The Rideout will leave at 11 prompt.Andy calls this a "scenic tour " of appx. 100 miles with a stop for lunch.Lets hope the weather holds for a good day out.

Conway OAP Thursday rideout turned into a tour of Llandudno, Deganway, Conway and Llanwryst, I clocked up 125 miles by the time I got back to Chester, but a fine day was had by all.

Club Rideout this Thursday Sept. 10th

Any club member wishing to go on this rideout should meet at Row's at 10am. On to Northop for 10.15, then on to the Whistle Stop Cafe at Rhuddlan for 10.45 approx. We intend to ride to Conwy. For any more details please contact Bernie.

Isle of Wight Scooter Rally,2020

The unofficial Isle of Wight Rally went ahead without official blessing over the weekend.The authorities used the Police to ban any bar or pub in Ryde from putting on any any musical entertainment .This was done in a last minute panic on wednesday night before the bank holiday on Friday.Other parts of the island were free to go ahead as normal .The vast majority of the visitors appeared to be obeying the social distancing rules.The weather was very kind to us,as usual, and we visited all the usual haunts during  the day.Ryde Castle staff really looked after us with evening meals.Lets hope all is back to normal for 2021. Scooter numbers are only guess work but there would have been over 300 on the Green on saturday afternoon with probably an equal number out and about at the same time.An unofficial ride out went ahead at one o'clock on Sunday with lots of spectators on the hill out of Ryde,probably taking five minutes to pass.I.O.W. just made for Scooters!

BSRA Nationals 2021

Official BSRA STATEMENT

Hello fellow scooterists as we all have had our full year of national scooter rallying cancelled due to the covid pandemic . I'm writing this with hope for next year ,that we can get back to our lifestyle of riding and participating in the great partying in our beautiful world . As we look at the organising of events for next year ,we fully understand that restrictions of large gatherings and live entertainment is very much up in the air ,and we cannot guarantee that we maybe in the same situation again having to cancel events . Many of the organisations of the BSRA Committee have had to sign up covid disclaimers with their venues and councils. Another problem we may face is said venues going under in these unsecured times.SO PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT NO BSRA ORGANISER CAN BE RESPONSIBLE FOR CANCELLED EVENTS DUE TO COVID RESTRICTIONS OR VENUES GOING BUST. And cannot be responsible for accommodation bookings if the rally is cancelled . (All of the organisers are scooterists and some have personally lost money this year on cancelled events )We are releasing our list of national rallies for 2021 earlier than the normal October custom show weekend to hopefully give us hope and give more notice to other smaller events that have faced the same situation.

Aberdovey run

Ok members the big one,the one you have all been waiting for,Aberdovey run across mid Wales,Thursday August the 13th,meet at Clubbies at 9.00 a.m. onto to the old store motorbike cafe for 9.30 a.m. Stop at Bala or Dolgellau for fuel! Then onto Talyllyn lake onward to Aberdovey, fish and chips maybe on the menu!

It was decided at last nights club meeting to have a club rideout on Thursday.Any club member wanting to go should meet at Clubbies at 11am ,this Thursday,30th July.The intention is a route in the Delamere direction.

Very Very late notice!

There is a gathering of scooter and motor bike clubs down at the river in Chester tomorrow to show our objection to the proposal of the councils plan to put in double yellow lines .Effectively making the traditional parking area for two wheel machines a no go area. Anyone from the club who wants to take part should be at Clubbies and ready to go at 1pm..Chester S.C. banners on scoots would be good.Please note covid distancing will be observed as much as possible,and if we get to the roundabout at the bottom of Souters Lane and the parking is all taken we will go back to Clubbies!

Well today everyone would have been heading to the ferries and getting very wet if Merseyside is anything to go by. Many people have been asking will the rally take place next year and if so on what date? We are pleased to announce that the Isle Of Man rally will be taking place on June 25th to June 27th 2021. We are also happy to confirm that this year's band, Heavy Sol from Leicester, have agreed to switch the booking to next year's rally.

The IOM Steam Packet Co. have the dates for next year so you may be able to reserve your places if you email your preference on accommodation, dates and travellers details to info@steampacketholidays.com. The sailing times and hotel price list won't be available until maybe Septemeber. We hope you are all keeping yourselves safe from this terrible pandemic and hope to see you all next year in the wonderful IOM.

Time to get our traditional Thursday Ride Outs going again ,before the summer is gone ! Any club member who fancies an ice cream at Parkgate on Thursday July 2nd,should meet at Clubbies at 11am .We will probably go on to West Kirby,see what the weather does.Social distancing,masks,gloves etc., are all a good idea and we have no idea what the food and drink and toilet situation will be like on the day. Just a update with regards the NWBA signing on competition, in light of the current situation and with a lot of the NWBA club runs having to be cancelled. Some of the sponsors for the prizes, due to business not being very good at this moment have had to withdraw the prize funds, which I fully understand and would like to thank them for their support, that was given to the NWBA.

With this in mind and the fact that I am not sure how many runs will be able to take place, I have made the decision to cancel this years signing on competition. The competition will restart next season.

I would like to carry on with the signing on, at any of the runs that we are able to attend this year, although I think it will be very few, the signing on this year will be just for fun.

I was very pleased with the amount of people who have signed on, on the first few rides, I felt you all were just starting to enjoy it and it added something to the rides.

Hope you all fully understand this decision that has been made.

Thank you all for your support. Hopefully in the near future we can make a restart to the scootering scene in our area.

Hi everyone

Hope you are all ok, I know alot of you are itching to get out on your scooters, I haven’t ridden mine since the lockdown and really looking forward to it.

With the current situation maybe starting to look a little better, and Wales maybe starting to lift their lockdown.

I was wondering if there would be a possibility, that all the club number ones / someone to represent the club, that in maybe in the very near future, we could organise a meeting, to discuss the future ( the remaining year) of scooter scene within the alliance.

What and how we would need to have in place, to be able to maybe, place a few runs on in the future, what restrictions we would needed have in place, etc etc.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

As it was a lovely day today, me and Bernie had a little tour of the Wirral, Parkgate and West Kirby. Not much social distancing going on, the beach was rammed with families at West Kirby, oh and the ice cream shop was open 😄 Come on Wales, let's get the lock down lifted soon so we can all get out. 😞

IOM Scooter Rally 2020 - Cancelled

Isle of Man Scooter Rally Event's Page - IOM Scooter Rally 26-28 June 2020

We are very sorry to have to announce the cancellation of the Isle Of Man Scooter Rally 2020 due to the lethal Covid 19 virus.

Although this was looking the likely outcome, the Manx authorities made the decision yesterday to close the Villa Marina theatre until at least September.

We are hoping and already making plans to host the rally next year if everything falls into place. An update on this will follow soon.

We thank everyone for supporting the rally in such large numbers and hope to see you at this rally in the future.

The most important thing at this time is that everybody comes through this situation safely and we all get back to normal living.

The IOM Steam Packet are offering refunds but you might find at this busy time for them an email is a better method. Always quote your reference number however you contact them.

BSRA Whitby and Tenby National Rallies cancelled

News has just filtered through that the Easter Rally at Whitby and the Tenby rally have been cancelled due to the corona virus pandemic.

This is the latest in a lengthening list of events to be cancelled, including the ones listed below.

NWBA Appeal

Below is from the NWBA Facebook page  -  Steve is looking for one person per club to organize donations, drop offs etc. Do we have any willing volunteers from Chester SC ?

Support Appeal for our local areas.

In light of the current situation in which we are all in, in these uncertain times.

As a lot of events are getting cancelled, which supported great causes.

The NWBA Alliance would like to put forward the idea of supporting the local community and elderly people or anybody who may not be able to manage in these hard times.

We would like ask all the NWBA Alliance clubs and members their thoughts on a idea of donations of toilet rolls, food or anything that maybe able to help the people within our alliance area.

We would need to sort out a location for a drop off point, and how we would go about the distribution of the donations.

How we going about letting the local community know.

Any ideas are good ideas, so please comment with any thoughts.

If as the Alliance we are able to support our area, it would be a good thing for the local communities.

It may help to keep the positive feelings within our clubs going, in this uncertain times.

Bad News

Due to the increase in the numbers of people forecast to contract the Corona virus the uk government has requested people not to meet up in Bars, Pubs etc. Because of this it's been decided to suspend our Tuesday night club meets until further notice. So tonights meeting is cancelled.
Tracey Griffiths has been in touch with the Countess Hospital,who advised us not to bring our usual Easter eggs on April 5th as planned, so our event is cancelled.
It is possible that we can organise our "club only" rideouts on Thursdays, or even on a weekend, providing we meet up avoiding pubs and cafes, bring your own butties ! Meanwhile keep in touch by posting in the "comments " box at the bottom of each post on this Blog Site.

Finally, we wish the Landlords and staff at the Grosvenor Arms all the best for a swift, healthy return to normal as fast as possible. Dave.

NWBA Mystery Run - Sun 15th March

Hi Everyone welcome to the first NWBA mystery Run of 2020.

With just over a week to go, I hope everyone will be able to join us on the run.

Just a couple of thing to beware of we will be covering about a 120 miles round trip, so make sure you set off with a full tank of fuel, for anyone that hasn’t fuelled up there is a petrol station just down the road, we will be pass some petrol stations but not many so just bear this is mind.

The ride is not a race, but the idea is to ride the route at a speed that suits you, and to enjoy the roads and riding your scooters, please beware that some of roads do have average speed cameras on them, so watch your speed.

We will be stopping for fuel, and to regroup, at a mid point.

This is a signing on event, so remember to sign on, please enter the milage as follows your milage to the Old motorbike store plus 120miles, and then home, IE for example if you have come from Chester, it would be 12 miles plus 120 miles plus 12 miles. Total 144 miles.

A route and map will be provided to you at the start point.
Please follow the route provided to you, you will also be able to open the route on google maps.

Hopefully everyone will enjoy the ride and will be the first of many.
