A few of us are having a run to the Salford Knights rally at Tattenhall on Saturday afternoon - meet at clubbies at 12 noon

After overnight rain clears,we should be in for a good day on Thursday,so any member who fancies a ride,meet at Clubbies to leave at 11am.Llangollen is the destination , if time permits,a trip over the hills to Llanarmon D.C.  Re-fuel in Llangollen if reqd.

We turned up for our Tuesday meet up as usual,to find the pub shut.We waited for a half hour to give members time to arrive,then went down to The Boathouse. Until we find out the situation at Clubbies we will continue to meet in the car park at 8pm and then decide where we will go from there.Any pub with a good parking area ,in Chester,is a consideration.Keep an eye on these Blog posts for updates

Isle of Man weekend Rally

Meet up at Starbucks cafe on the A41/M53  junction at 9am, this Friday,June 22nd .Rally passes will be available, to those who booked them,on arrival at accomodation .Fingers crossed for a calm crossing!Parking will probably be on the road so a scooter cover and lock is not a bad idea.

Broughton Wings Soul Night - Sat 9th June

Broughton Wings Soul Club present on Saturday June 9th the 18th Anniversary & Charity Night Special.

The longest running Soul Night in Wales comes of age with it's 18th Anniversary, Plus the chosen Charity  for this year is Cancer Research. A well deserving charity I am sure you will agree.

Q.P.S.C. are holding their open day this coming Sunday. Any club members wanting to go should go to Clubbies ready for an 11.30 departure for the short ride to The Turf pub,next to Wrexham Football ground .The rideout leaves at 1pm ,ending up at the Kings Mill pub (,just off the Marchwiel road).

Club Rideout,Sunday 6th of May

As its Bank Holiday weekend and the only rally is Tenby,we thought a rideout localy would be an idea.Meet up at Roweys house at 10.30.We will go via Denbigh to Llanfair T.H. for a coffee stop at The Bridge Inn ,on to Llanwrst ,refuel,and cross the river to Trefriw and lunch at The Ship Inn. Up to Conway and back via the back roads through  Betwys-yn Rhos to St Asaph ,calling at The Fox for a break before returning to Mold .Weather is forecast to be ok,so bring your waterproofs !

Into the Valley ride out this Sunday April 22nd

North Wales Nomads are running their ever popular ride again this year to Betwys -y-Coed .Meet up is at the Whistle Stop Cafe at Rhuddlan at 12 noon to leave at 1pm.Local meet up for those coming from Chester would be Clubbies about 10.45 ,but this can be discused at tonights club meeting and altered if required .Watch this post for alterations.No body expressed any interest in meeting at Clubbies so first meet up for us is 11.30 at the Halfway House pub on the A5026 at Carmel/Holywell

Sleap Rideout,this Saturday,14th April

Any club member wanting to go on this should meet at Clubbies on Saturday ready for an 11.30  departure. The ride from Chester is appx.an hour to Sleap Airfield,Wem,Shropshire.
Sleap are holding a "CLASSICS DAY" ,to include classic aircraft,cars,bikes and scooters.The cafe in the tower will be open as usual and the Wreckology Museum as well.
Weather forecast is to be dry,mild,14c ,with light cloud,so if forecast doesnt chang,it should be ok.
The number of classic aircraft attending will depend on the height of the cloudbase on the day.There is no charge to attend.

NWBA Storm the Orme - Sun 8th April

The rearranged NWBA Storm the Orme Ride Out is this Sunday. Meet at Clubbies at 10:30, or head straight to McDonalds Flint.

Soul Night in Northwich on July 14th - Anyone Interested ?

Saw this advertised through the Northwich Omega S.C. as they are getting a table together for their club. Just wondered if anyone is interested in this event and we could get a bunch of tickets ordered. It looks like it will be set out in a cabaret style with a dancing area.

I will be coming down to Clubbies tomorrow night, so we could discuss it then.

Grosvenor Arms ,Handbridge,Re-open.

The Grosvenor Arms re-opened on 27th December.Bernie called in and met the new landlady,Debbie. Bernie explained the situation regarding Chester Scooter Club having met there for fourteen years and Debbie was  happy for us to continue to meet there.
 The next meeting will be at The Grosvenor Arms at 8pm on Tuesday 2nd January.

I am sure all the members would like to thank Donna, our host landlady, for accomodating us at The Anchor Hotel when "Clubbies " was shut.
Also many thanks to Pat for organising our temporary venue at The Anchor.

Due to our landlady,Pat,giving up the tenancy on the pub,we will temporarily be homeless.The pub will be shut for an unknown period of time while alterations/work is carried out .
Pat has kindly arranged an alternative pub ,the Anchor,Saltney with landlady Donna so we can still do our annual toy run on 17th December to the Countess of Chester hospital .All details remain the same as previous years except the start venue,now The Anchor Hotel ,Saltney.We can meet up at the Anchor until the situation at The Grosvenor Arms is clarified.

Wrexham Remembrance Ride 12th November.

For anyone wanting to do this ride suggest meet at Clubbies at 9am to leave at 9.15 for the ride to the Spar at Rhosddu Rd Wrexham LL112NW. Route :- go into Wreham on the Chester Rd (A5152) .At first roundabout turn right into Prices Lane ,to the T junction, turn left into Rhosddu Rd .Spar shop on the right . Dave .

Club Collection for Ritchie

As so few of our members were able to attend last Saturday nights fund raiser for Ritchie,it might be an idea to make individual donations that we can pool together and send to Ritchie from all at Chester Scooter Club ,in the form of a cheque.
 I will start the collection tomorrow night at our usual Tuesday session and leave it running for a few weeks so everyone gets a chance to donate if they want to .Ritchie has done a lot for the Alliance and so we all have benefitted from his work, so give what you can to help soften the blow of losing his sight which means stopping scootering.

I think all our club members are aware of this fund raising event on Saturday night.Ritchie works hard for the Alliance and as he is losing his sight he needs some funds to tide him over until he can draw his pension at age 55 from his works. For club members who have booked tickets for Saturday evening performance it starts at 7.30pm, so meet up in the bar at 7pm. We are all on the one ticket so need to go in together!

" All or Nothing " publicity rideout

Details have been passed to us about a rideout thats taking place in Chester on Saturday 30th September . It's a press and publicity event for the Small Faces musical play that is running at the new Storyhouse Theater on the town hall square .
  The plan is to meet up at the Little Owl pub ,1 Gawer Park ,CH14DA.(just off Parkgate Road) from 12.15 ,to leave at 1pm for the short ride to the theater with photo opportunity and chance to meet the cast of the play. Afterwards a ride to the Groves,depending on the weather.

Isle of Man Scooter Rally 2018

We have just got info from Barry about I.O.M Rally for next year .Date is June 22nd /24th. Our usual Hotel is on the list and is the cheapest @ £101 per person plus the scooter supplement of £54 per scooter. Rider and Pillion and scooter is £256 . If we want "Our Usual " Hotel we need to act fast as it will fill up fast,as it's the cheapest,as soon as the list is posted on Facebook ( next Monday) So if you are keen to go let me know a.s.a.p . Scootaway UK 2017

To raise awareness of Parkinsons disease a group of scooterists in Falkirk ,Scotland ,plan to ride all the Motorways in mainland Britain in four days .They are looking for support from fellow scooterists.They start next Thursday and first stop overnight is Preston . They will come out of the Mersey Tunnel about 10am on Friday 7th July and are having a short stop at B+Q,Bidston Link Road,Wallasey,CH44 2HE. A Parkinsons support group will be there to great them .The plan would be to greet them then ride with them along the M53 .Details of event are on Facebook.Looks like four Lambrettas making the trip .

The new theatre in Chester (just open this week),is hosting this musical play . There are four dates in September,Wed.27th to Sat 30th. ,performances at 7.30pm .Ticket prices vary £18 Gallery (very high up ) £26 Circle ,£22 Stalls .If we book more than ten we get 10% discount .Need to book quick to get in ,suggest circle for best seats.If you are interested contact Dave.

Queens Park Scooter Club Ride Out - Sun 14th May

Ride to the River,this Sunday May 7th.

Most members will know about this ,but heres the details .North Wales and Borders Alliance are riding to the river Dee in Chester this Sunday, starting from McDonalds at Flint. Meet up time is 12.15 to leave prompt at 1 pm .They have stressed this is a ride to Chester rather than a meet at the river,but the weather should be ok and theres not many places better than the river at Chester on a good day ,so a big turnout is expected.
