NWBA Appeal

Below is from the NWBA Facebook page  -  Steve is looking for one person per club to organize donations, drop offs etc. Do we have any willing volunteers from Chester SC ?

Support Appeal for our local areas.

In light of the current situation in which we are all in, in these uncertain times.

As a lot of events are getting cancelled, which supported great causes.

The NWBA Alliance would like to put forward the idea of supporting the local community and elderly people or anybody who may not be able to manage in these hard times.

We would like ask all the NWBA Alliance clubs and members their thoughts on a idea of donations of toilet rolls, food or anything that maybe able to help the people within our alliance area.

We would need to sort out a location for a drop off point, and how we would go about the distribution of the donations.

How we going about letting the local community know.

Any ideas are good ideas, so please comment with any thoughts.

If as the Alliance we are able to support our area, it would be a good thing for the local communities.

It may help to keep the positive feelings within our clubs going, in this uncertain times.

Thanks you all for your support.

I will post this on the clubs pages, but if you all could just comment on the NWBA Alliance Facebook page, so we have all the comments together.

Bad News

Due to the increase in the numbers of people forecast to contract the Corona virus the uk government has requested people not to meet up in Bars, Pubs etc. Because of this it's been decided to suspend our Tuesday night club meets until further notice. So tonights meeting is cancelled.
Tracey Griffiths has been in touch with the Countess Hospital, who advised us not to bring our usual Easter eggs on April 5th as planned, so our event is cancelled.
It is possible that we can organise our "club only" rideouts on Thursdays, or even on a weekend, providing we meet up avoiding pubs and cafes, bring your own butties ! Meanwhile keep in touch by posting in the "comments " box at the bottom of each post on this Blog Site.

Finally, we wish the Landlords and staff at the Grosvenor Arms all the best for a swift, healthy return to normal as fast as possible. Dave.

NWBA Mystery Run - Sun 15th March

Hi Everyone welcome to the first NWBA mystery Run of 2020.

With just over a week to go, I hope everyone will be able to join us on the run.

Just a couple of thing to beware of we will be covering about a 120 miles round trip, so make sure you set off with a full tank of fuel, for anyone that hasn’t fuelled up there is a petrol station just down the road, we will be pass some petrol stations but not many so just bear this is mind.

The ride is not a race, but the idea is to ride the route at a speed that suits you, and to enjoy the roads and riding your scooters, please beware that some of roads do have average speed cameras on them, so watch your speed.

We will be stopping for fuel, and to regroup, at a mid point.

This is a signing on event, so remember to sign on, please enter the milage as follows your milage to the Old motorbike store plus 120miles, and then home, IE for example if you have come from Chester, it would be 12 miles plus 120 miles plus 12 miles. Total 144 miles.

A route and map will be provided to you at the start point.
Please follow the route provided to you, you will also be able to open the route on google maps.

Hopefully everyone will enjoy the ride and will be the first of many.
Thanks for your support

Carole Nash Show Pictures - 11/01/2020

Here's some pics from yesterday, sorry they are all a bit on the dark side. I found the show interesting from a wider angle than just scooters, as there was also some great engineering stalls for tools and equipment.

Carole Nash Classic Bike and Scooter Show - Sat Jan 11th+Sun Jan 12th

Hi folks, just wondering if anyone fancied going to the Carole Nash bike and scooter show over at Newark show ground. Tickets are only £10.00 to get in ( if bought off the internet). I am definitely going to go, not sure if I will go Saturday or Sunday yet, but I've got 4 seats going spare in my car if anyone fancies it. First come, first served, let me know.

Merry Xmas from everyone at Chester Scooter Club

And a reminder that there will be no club meetings on Christmas eve or new year's eve, so the next meeting will be Tuesday 7th Jan 2020.

Christmas Toy Run 2019.

Many thanks to all those scooterists who attended on Sunday our 16th Toy Run ! Especial thanks to Stuart and Brad for hosting the event .Thanks also to Erika for driving all the toys to the hospital. This event was the first "Signing On " event for the NWBA scheme and seemed to go smoothly.Lots of individuals and a variety of clubs attended on a day that started well, weather wise, with 50 scooters leaving Clubbies car park for the run to the hospital. The weather turned very wet, causing a low number of scooterists returning for the hotpot food after the run. Thanks again to all involved .Dave.

NWBA AGM - Sun 17th November

Hi All,

This years NWBA AGM meeting will be held at The Old Motorbike Cafe (CH74HR).

The meeting time is 11am on the 17th November. Please can you get there before 11am.

We are hoping this year that all the clubs within the alliance will be able to attend, as this year we are planning to put forward a lot of other business to discuss. Can I ask that all clubs have 1 main spokesman to speak on the club's behalf. This years minutes with an agenda list will be handed out. Can all clubs please come with at least 2 dates for the events that they would like to host.

If a club is unable to attend, please can you forward your apologies.

Anybody who is a Scooterist from within the alliance area, is more than welcome to attend the AGM, as the NWBA is for all scooterists not just the clubs. At the end of the meeting we will be doing open questions for all Scooterists, so that questions can be answered and any other information can be given.

Thanks to all, and look forward to seeing you.
Steve
