NWBA Scooter Dates for 2019

This is the calendar just released by Dave Durnall for NWBA and other scooter events for 2019

Tuesday night meeting 20th November.

Meet at Clubbies carpark between 8 and 8.30pm .Venue for the evening to then be decided.

Tuesday night meeting Nov.13th.

As previous weeks meet at Clubbies car park between 8 and 8.30 pm .This week we are going to try the Centurion pub,1 Oldfield Drive,Vicars Cross,Chester,CH3 5LN..

Soul night at Saltney tavern

Soul night this Saturday the 10th of November at the Saltney tavern 7.30 pm until 12.30 am playing northern soul and rare Motown all on lovely vinyl,,,,

Club Meeting ,Tuesday November 6th

Meet at Clubbies car park as usual,between 8pm and 8.30pm.If Clubbies isn't open then we are going to the Bear's Paw,Dicksons Drive.

NW+BA A.G.M ,Sunday 18th November.

Two volunteers from our club are needed to represent us at the A.G.M  at Flintshire Scooter Club on Sunday, 18th November. The administration of the Alliance is being taken on by Coaty and Dave Durnell .It is important for our club to be represented especially if we are cancelling our Christmas Toy Run this year.I can't make it this year due to surgery on the 16th November .The meeting usually lasts a couple of hours .Only two Representatives from each club are allowed in the meeting. If you can do it use the comments box or ring me.Meeting starts at 11.30. Dave.

Ritchie Roberts,standing down

Ritchie Roberts is standing down as chairman of the North Wales and Borders Alliance. Anyone wanting to know the reasons for this should access the N.W.B.A.page on Facebook. Without his leadership the Alliance will probably collapse.
The hardest hit will be the club riders who only do local day events,as there is no communication between clubs,so no one is going to turn up !
As we have lost our permanent home base(again!)we need to keep our meetings going on Tuesday nights through the winter,otherwise our club will fragment.No one will think any the worse of you if you come by car during the winter months ! While this situation exists I think Toy Run and Egg Run need to be discused and possibly cancelled for now.
We will organise club pub rides for next year Thursdays and Sundays, as before, as there is no point having a scooter if you don't get out on it !

Graham Lloyd tells me that Clubbies was closed when he passed yesterday evening. It may have been a one off,but to play safe we will go for "plan B ",meet at Clubbies at 8pm to leave at 8.30 for the Boathouse.For those in cars there is pay and display in the Boathouse car park,or an alternative is park in Dee Lane and walk round.Dave.

Clubbies Open

The Grosvenor Arms ,Handbridge,has re-opened.We met there last night with a view to going on to the Boathouse,only to find the pub open for business,so for the forseeable future we will be meeting up there as usual.

Lancashire Alliance Southport Rideout - this Sunday

Any club member wanting to go to this meet at Starbucks cafe at Eastham,by the junction of the A41 and M53 .(where we always meet for the Isle of Man trip) .Be ready to leave Starbucks at 10.30.We can't use Clubbies as the road outside the pub is closed for the Marathon Run.

Tracey leaving us

Tracey is moving from Chester to Belfast on a permanent basis this Friday,so can't make the Tuesday night meetings .We will forgive her !
I'm sure the club members will want to join with Judy and I to wish her all the best in her new life across the Irish sea and hope to see her again on her scooter when she comes over.

The search for a new base continues....

Due to the loss of our "home" at Clubbies we need to check out a few pubs as a possible base for the club.This coming Tuesday,2nd of October, meet on Clubbies car park at 8pm.At 8.30 sharp ,we will go to the Boathouse and check it out. Dave.

Clubbies closing down

Once again our favourite scooter base in Chester is closing down,due to a lack of trade.The pub will shut on Saturday,22nd of September. Our next meeting is Tuesday,25th of September .We intend to go to Hickory's down by the river.Meet at Clubbies at 8pm as usual. At 8.30 we will go to Hickory's.If we are not welcome we will go along to the Boathouse..
