Chester Scooter Club Countess Easter Egg Run

Following the club meeting last night, Pat, Tracy and Lyn got their heads together and it was decided to hold the easter egg run to the Countess Hospital on Easter Sunday 8th April, the ride will leave Clubbys (The Grosvenor) at 2 pm, then return back to the pub.

Tracy has already had a load of eggs donated from work colleagues, so we are off to a good start. I know it's usually a busy family day, but if everyone can make a supreme effort to give up an hour of their time to support the run and brighten up the day for the sick kids at the Countess, it will be greatly appreciated.

See you all there - don't forget to bring loads of easter eggs.

What cracking weather we had for our first club outing of 2007,with thirteen scooters leaving Clubbies for the ride to Lowton .No breakdowns, nobody lost enroute,we actually arrived with time to spare at the leisure center .This must be some kind of a record for Chester s.c. !! The ride from Lowton to the childrens hospital was the usual clutch hammering ,traffic dodging twelve miles that takes about an hour and a half but the mass of scooters at the end is worth seeing .Eric had a good idea after we dropped off the eggs ,a cafe 200yds up the road ,tables in the sun ,roll on global warming if every egg run will be this good !Erics second good idea of the day was to drop straight onto the East Lancs road and do the return journey in 20 mins back to Lowton . After a quick look round it was off home ,tea ,shower,and down to Saltney Social Club for " Dancin"Dave Buckleys cancer charity do .It was packed,even some of the regulars had difficulty getting tickets,as usual more people seem to dance to the disco than to the live band ,but the New Age Jam were good and at a fiver a ticket it was great value .Asusual in these places the que for the bar was awfull,most of us buying two at a time but that was avery small part of a really good night watching a live band ,you cant beat it .Well done Dave Buckley and helpers . more phots of the egg run will appear as soon as I learn how to navigate the blog site ! This Sunday,April 1st ,is the massive Wirral egg run ,for anyone wanting to go give Barry Turner a ring as he will probably know where it starts from 0151 356 8384,is his number ,all the best Dave .

New Age Jam in Saltney , March 24th

Club member Dave Buckley has been in touch to let us know that he is promoting a night at The Saltney Sports and Social Club . He has booked the Jam tribute band "New Age Jam "and got our mate Mark to do the decks . Its all in aid of charity for Cancer ,so lets hope as many of us as possible can make it .Saturday 24th of March is the date , it coincides with Gingers Egg Run so it will be a good end to a hard days ride ! Dave will call in to our club night on Tuesday with some tickets . He tells me 150 out of 200 have already sold . Good Luck to him and we hope its a success

Thanks to Graham for the update info on the blog site and also for making the blogsite adress laminated cards that we handed out at the meeting on Tuesday night . Great turnout of 13 members and with 2 on scooters it was good for a cold February night . We were all surprised because we half expected to be the only one to turn up ! Next rideout will be Gingers egg run on March 24 th ,saturday ,meeting at the Grosvenor Arms at 10 oclock . Hope to see you before that at the Tuesday meets .All the best Dave.
