Auto Motas Scooters Pics 1950's ?

Interesting find today while going through some old photos at my dads, found these of the old Auto Motas scooter shop in Chester and Davies cycle shop which look like around the end of the 1950's to me. My dad was a keen photographer and took thousands of photos of everything and anything, so i thought I would post these up for nostalgia. Looks like Lambretta LD Mk 3's and a nice Heinkel bubble car parked up outside, I zoomed up the shop sign which I thought was also interesting.

Toy Run 2012

Ride to the Tap ,Thursday 27th December.

Liverpool Scooter Club are organising there "Mersey Bowl Ride " again this year on the day after Boxing Day,Thursday 27th December. Slight change of plan this year as once everyone has arrived at the Tap pub at Eastham Ferry,then there is a mass ride to the Pensby Hotel for lunch .The Pensby is the home base for "Too Much,Too Old " Scooter Club .Anyone from Chester could meet at Clubbies about 11ish.We will leave at 11.45, latest, hoping to arrive at the Tap about 12.30 in time for the mass rideout .All this depends on the weather during next week ,untill then Happy Christmas !

UPDATE -Due to the Chester half marathon and city centre roads being closed on Sunday,  Chester Scooter Club will be meeting at the Yacht pub on parkgate road at 10.15am and leaving at 10.30am. Any other clubs or solo riders are welcome to ride with us.

Rhyl Weekender,this weekend.

The Rhyl Weekender is on this weekend,14th-16th September .Chester scooter club are having a ride up there on Saturday lunch time .Anyone wanting to ride up with the club should be at Clubbies at 11.15 am latest for an 11.30 departure.If anyone wants to meet on Deeside we should be passing the Halfway House pub (near the college)between 11.50 and noon .

Run to the Bears Paw Frodsham thur 6th sept

Liverpool Scooter Club`s yearly run to the bears paw pub frodsham , is taking place this thursday evening 6th sept.They aim to arrive in frodsham between 8-8.30. Chester Scooter Club meet at clubbies 7.30 with the view of leaving at 7.45.

Sunday 9th September, Rideout .

N.WBSC Alliance are having a rideout next Sunday starting from Petrolheads cafe @ Bagillt into Chester down to the river .I cant find out any times etc ., so all will have to be arranged at Tuesday nights club meet .

UPDATE - For those who want to ride from Chester to Petrolheads and back again, we will be leaving Clubbies at 11-30 to ride to Bagillt and will leave Petrolheads at 12-30 to ride to the Groves at the River Dee at Chester.

The Funeral Of Gary Clark

Gary Clark's funeral will take place on Friday 31st August. Leaving from his house in Gwersyllt at 11.30am or the committal is at Wrexham Crematorium 12 noon. All scooters are welcome and come dressed how you like.
The meeting point is Tesco car park in Gwersyllt at 10.45am if you're on your scooter. 

update   update update :-  It was agreed at Tuesday meeting that anyone from the club wanting to ride to the funeral would meet at Clubbies @ 10 am to leave prompt @ 10.15 am for Gwersyllt. Leg shield banners are being displayed for those that have them .

Dabbers sc Rideout Sunday 2nd Sept.

Gary Clark - Sad News

I have just recieved the sad news of the sudden death of our club member Gary Clark . No details are known at this time .As information comes available I will update . I am sure all the club members who new Gary will want to join with me to send our condolences and deepest sympathy to Gary's widow and family , Update :- Anyone wanting to make a contribution to Gary's family and the funeral can do so at Alladins Cave in Saltney as Tomo has agreed to be the custodian of the fund .

Aberdovey Rideout Pics

Long hard day in the saddle which started off pretty wet and miserable and reached a 50/50 turn-back decision point at Bala where the weather had turned for the worse and it had got considerably colder. However not to be beaten the intrepid riders of CSC carried on to the petrol stop at Dolgellau where the weather started to brighten up and the decision was made to carry on all the way to Dovey, which was bathed in sun when we arrived, it turned out a really good ride on fantastic twisties with splendid Welsh scenic views. Riders present were Dave, Bernie + Tracy, Steve, Graham, Brian, Brian Gosling, Peter + Alison.

Jesters "Scooterfest 8 " this Sunday,20th May .

North Staffs "Jesters " scooter club are holding their "scooterfest" in Leek town centre this Sunday.Its in the usual place, Silk street car park ,Leek ,ST136HX.Free entry,parts fair ,ridden custom show ,hog roast etc .This event always has a good turnout and ChesterS.C. have done this event many times in the past .Suggest meet at Clubbies 10.00 am leave 10.15 as parking in leek is always difficult for late arrivals .We need to be there noon at the latest . Parkgate Rideout

Parkgate Rideout ,Sunday,May 13th.

The next rideout on our list is to Parkgate on Sunday ,May 13th .This is being run by our old pal Barry Turner in conjunction with the North Wales and Borders Alliance and the Lancashire Scooter Alliance .Meeting point is the Helsby Services on the M56 at 12 noon departing @ 12.30 for the Ship Hotel, CH646SA ,on the prom at Parkgate .There is scooter parking behind the pub and they will be selling burger and chips .UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE . Due to a half marathon in Chester City it has been decided to meet at The Yacht Inn on the Parkgate road just before Two Mills lights .Meet at 12.30. The rideout should pass The Yacht at appx .12.50 .Rideout details are on the Lancashire Alliance website or contact Barry Turner on 0151 356 8384.

Big thanks to Iain Bradley of Shrewsbury Severnside Scooter Club for taking all the photos as nobody in Chester SC remembered to bring a camera !! Anyway it was a really successful day with a record turn out, so thanks to all of the scooterists from around the North West and North Wales who turned out to make the day such a success, not forgetting Pat (Landlady of the Grosvenor Arms) and Bernie and Tracey who made it all possible.
