Modfathers @Divas club

Last Saturday night saw a good turnout by Chester s.c. members and friends for what turned out to be a cracking night out .Dave Buckley,Steph and family organised what I think was their best gig yet ,and all for charity. The Paul Weller tribute band "The Modfathers " were top class, giving a really proffesional performance, both visually and musically,it was just like having Weller in the room !First set was modern weller plus the odd Style Council number .After the break they really got the crowd with them as they started into more Jam numbers .The dance floor was full and everyone Ispoke to was made up with the gig .Thanks to the lads in the band and we hope you come back to Chester again !

Dave Buckley has been asked to organise the do on the 19th of June for the Ska tribute band "Complete Madness " ,by the Divas club management and tickets will be on sale soon at £8 .Its a FRIDAY night so dont miss out as these tickets will go quick .

Nomads Into The Valley 3 Ride-Out - Sunday 26th April

This Sunday is the North Wales Nomads ride-out and Dave has asked me to put a post up. Some of the Liverpool lads are coming over for this one and Dave has arranged to meet them on the Wirral and lead them to the meeting point at The Diner+Petrol Garage on the A55 just past the Mold turn off (St' David's Park/Mold turn off junction).

So the leaving time from Clubbies will be 10-45am to get to the Diner on the A55 for 11-15am. I'll only be going on this one if I get my scoot back together after electrical problems, so it may be best to give Dave a ring on Saturday to check with him. Dave Baker - Mobile - 07773-669330

An additinal starting point has also been arranged by Bernie and members who were at Tuesday nights meeting .Meet at the Deeside Leisure Center (ice rink) at 10.30 and then ride up to the Diner on the A55 as above .Apologies for the confusion on this ride out but Im sure we will all get to Llandulas A55 Diner for the start at 1pm ,all the best ,Dave .

Ska Borough tale (part 2 )

Itook this photo two hours after the previous one ,at 3.30 pm Saturday. We spent a couple of hours killing time in a wet, cold ,seaside town and as we came back up these two were kick starting the scooter and it went 3rd kick ! They had changed barrel, piston, head ,reid valve inlet manifold and re jetted the carb, refitted and re-connected all the cables .Only thing still on the hotel front lawn was footboards and sidepanels ! A superb effort in anybodies book . Well done the Preston Lads ! Saturday night was buzzing at the Spa with Bad Manners fronted by Buster himself and standing on the old fashioned wooden dance floor was like being on a trampoline with everyone pogo-ing !
Sunday morning dawned dry so jude and me loaded up the scoot and set a westerley heading riding from a cool cloudy east coast into superb sunshine,no wind and seven hours of riding to Holywell .
P.S.We stopped for fuel 10 miles from Preston and who should come hurtling past (Running In ?? ) but the two likely lads in the photo . To the lads:- if you ever read this send me an email with your names and I will send the photos .Dave .

Ska borough tale (part one)

Eight members of Chester S.C. went to this the first national rally of 2009. Dave Buckley,Stef and family,Steve and Jan Flynn ,Pete and Tina Chadwick and Judy and me . None of us rode up ! Friday was good weather ,mostly ,and the evening do in the Spa was great with Basket Case taking on a "Pirates of the Carribean " theme and really working the crowd in the main room . Saturday was the usual choc-a-bloc parts fair .Wandering into town after our pub lunch we came across this sorry sight outside a hotel .A minute after taking the photo the owner and his mate showed up with big card board boxes under each arm ,fresh from the parts fair . The lads were from Preston, about 120 miles away .Halfway through the journey this ts1 lammy melted its piston and not wishing to miss the rally ,was recovered to this pavement ,where the engine was removed and stripped in the front garden of the hotel .The lads had bought a complete ts1 kit to repair it with (about £450 +!! )We wished them luck ,and went off to town .This was 1.30 pm .

Northwich Omega S.C. Ride-Out Sunday 19th April

Just to remind everybody that the next planned local ride-out is the one to Northwich this Sunday 19th April. Trevor was keen to promote this one when he came on our Easter Egg run and there should be a large turn out of scoots if last years Thundersprint day was anything to go by, (this is not the Thundersprint day by the way it's on May 10th).

The meeting place is the same as last year, Junction 10 on the M56/ A49, you need to go across the roundabout at the junction towards Warrington and there is a large side road on the left about a quarter of a mile along. The ride-out is going to the Bowling Green Inn, Northwich, where there will be live music from The Targets. I suggest meeting at Clubbies at 10-15 to give us time to get up to the meeting place.

Easter Egg Run - Report

More Pictures Added Below 6/4/2009.

A big thanks to all scooterists that turned up for our annual Egg Run to The Countess Hospital Children's Ward, this year broke all previous records with 103 scooters in attendance and several motorbikes turning up to join us as well. A nice double loop of Chester City centre with a photo call stop on the way back at the Town Hall square and it was back to Clubbies for beers and sandwiches. It was nice to see Lee out on his lovely Jet 200 (pictured above).

Also thanks to Pat from Clubbies for hosting us all and providing the sandwiches, pies and pizza all FOC and well done to Dave Buckley who went round selling raffle tickets, raising £90 for his chosen charity and Dave Baker winning 'The Who' tee shirt first prize.
