Llandudno Welsh national Scooter Rally

It was decided at the club meeting last night to go with Andy (nico's) idea to meet at Clubbies (Grosvenor Arms,Handbridge )at 10.15 Saturday morning, leaving at 10.30 Prompt! for the ride to Llandudno. We are picking up members along the route at Saltney (!!?),St Davids Park ,Ewloe and Halfway house pub at Carmel,nr.Holywell,so this is why we need to leave spot on 10.30.We wont use the A55 section that forbids Learners so anyone is welcome to tag along .Bring your waterproofs as the forecast is not great .See you all Saturday ,Dave .

Did this rally in 2008 and apart from a nice ride up and back, I was not impressed by what was on offer. It all basically revolves around one building the 'Venue Cymru', with the custom show on the pavement outside, I think the charge was £10.00 to go inside to the parts fair, so unless it's changed I don't think it's really worth it.

I agree with Graham that the parts fair last time was expensive to go in (2009) and so I didnt bother, later being told that there wasnt much in there anyway . On the other hand Llandudno is a great place to be if you are staying overnight with a big choice of pubs and eating places, one of the best scooter rides in N.Wales round the Orme. The night do on Saturday night was good with "Basket Case" always good value for money, and as Graham says the ride from Chester up and back is good if the weather holds ,even avoiding the A55 if you want a more interesting trip ,I will be going down there ,unless it snows ! As most of the scooters arrive Friday, they leave on Sunday morning and it isnt worth going down there Sunday expecting to see scooters as you will see them all east bound on the A55!!

Gents,

This is the closest national rally to your club this year. Llandudno is a cracking sea side resort, there's other things to do / see if you don't want to take up what VFM have to offer. I have been told there's a steam rally weekend on at the same time, so there will be plenty to see and do, let alone all the drinking houses.
Hope to see you all there.

Cheers Andy,

After reading the first two posts, I was under the impression that your club was giving this rally the cold shoulder. I live locally to your club and have enjoyed a number of rides outs in the Cheshire / Lancashire area, were you club has been in attendance and in large numbers, displaying your club logo. It would be a shame if some / most of you don't come down to Llandudno, even just for the day because of a previous rally.

Is anyone planning on going down for a few hours and then coming back to Chester again? New to scooters (just got my first one) and quite fancy it but don't really want to stay over. Cheers,
