Thank you to all the clubs and solo scooterists who came to the Toy Run on Sunday. In true scooterist fashion, hardly anyone took any photos/videos, and we only have the two above.

Anyone going to The Isle of Man also has to fill out an on-line Vaccination Exemption form at least 36 hours before you go. - https://services.gov.im/travel-notification-service/vaccination-exemption/apply
I think you need to send proof of double vaccination and receive a confirmation e-mail back from them to say all is good before you set off.

As the weather looks fine for tomorrow it has been suggested that we have a ride out for anyone who is free. The basic plan is to meet at The Bikers Cafe at Pontblyddin at 10-30 to 11 am. We can have a cuppa and a bite to eat and then decide where to ride to.

Some interesting fashion and dance styles around in 1972.
Bernie has asked me to put up a post regarding Easter Egg donations to The Countess of Chester.
Due to Covid we obviously can't hold our usual scooter event this year, so please don't ride to the Hospital on Sunday 28th. However Tracey has been in touch with the childrens ward at the hospital and they would very much like to receive some Easter Eggs for the children.
So Bernie has asked if anyone would like to donate an Easter Egg, please could you give Bernie a ring and drop an egg off at his house in Saltney, Chester, or if anyone would like to come down to Clubbies pub car park in Handbridge to drop off an egg on Sunday 28th March at 12-30, (socially distanced of course), Bernie will be there to receive your donation.
Another option is that Bernie is prepared to donate an egg on your behalf if you give him a ring and ask him to do that.

Made a good start on the GP build over the last few weeks. Far too cold to work in the garage, so what else are you going to use the spare bedroom for 😊 Nearly all painted parts back now.
It appears that E10 petrol is being introduced during the summer.
From Gov.UK
During summer 2021, the standard (or ‘Premium’) petrol grade in the UK will become E10.
E10 petrol contains up to 10% renewable ethanol, which is added to reduce CO2 emissions and help tackle climate change.
E10 petrol is compatible with almost all (95%) petrol-powered vehicles on the road today, including all cars built since 2011.
If your vehicle or equipment is not compatible with E10 fuel, you will still be able to use E5 by purchasing the ‘Super’ grade petrol from most filling stations.
I know it will come as a surprise, but the E5 Super grade petrol is expected to be more expensive...

My birthday present subscription copy of Scootering dropped through the door today. On the front a wonderful Series 1 custom, which for once I really liked. Reading the story of the build inside, I was amused by the comment in the owner details section on page 24.
The owner Gary told a story about his dad breaking down on his TV 175 back in the day, with which he had loads of problems. One time when it broke down he was so mad with it that he pushed into a farmers field and left it there, screaming that it was a piece of shit and never wanted to see it again and ended up walking home. He left it for a few days and then decided to go back and get it and it was still there in the field exactly where he had left it. When he was asked if he was surprised that it was still there he said, no not really nobody wanted them back then as they were deemed useless 😀
It should be Burton Brewers Custom Show tomorrow (Sat 20th Feb). I like to think of it as the start of scootering year and it’s one of my favourites.
Found this vocal only version on YouTube and thought i'd share it.

Click on the link above for an enjoyable tale of riding the South West Coast 300 from the SLUK website. Maybe this will be the short term future for riding scooters, rather than the normal Rallies.
For those who might be interested, I have decided to try the Chiselspeed easy clutch conversion to try to make the clutch on the GP as easy as possible, time will tell but it looks a good job.
The Specials on Top of the Pops 40 years ago with Do Nothing. Some cracking Xmas jumpers on show, and who else had a flat top haircut like Terry Hall ?
