Thanks to Gray for the previous update and photo on last Sundays rideout .The weather forecast was once again very pessimistic .When I arrived at Clubbies as was surprised to find so many already there . Lots of new faces,in the shape of the newly formed Ellesmere Port Scooter Club and very welcome they were to ! Haggis (Nomads + Cloud 9 )also joined up with us for the ride to Wrexham .23 scooters left Clubbies for Wrexham arriving in the usual disarray at the Walnut Tree pub ,a good venue but the rideout has massively out grown it . Blast off was at 1pm and it was said 300 left this year,it did look more this year . The Marshalling was up to the usual high standard that Wxm S.C. always provideso even Chester lads cant get lost !Good photo opportunity at the Ponderosa on the Horseshoe Pass,ten lammies and something else on the end !Sorry Bernie couldnt resist it !! The new legshield banners made a good showand Big Jimmy from cloud 9 said he didnt knowuntil he saw the banners that we were up and running again ,so they do work .(only 2 spare ones now ,all the rest are spoken for ) . We all made it back to the Walnut tree o.k. unlike the couple from Shrop[shire who came off.Thankfully not badly hurt .Ive read of scooters seizing as they run out of fuel but never really believed the engine would keep turning long enough to exhaust the lubrication already on the piston before it conked out ! After an hour or so back in Wxm we starte to work our way home ,the group heading towards Chester made it back in the dry ,but the ones heading north ran headlong into a cloudburst that had been threatening all afternoon . The main road through Buckley was flooded ,so I did about 100 yards on the pavementto avoid the deep water ,evetually arriving home soaked and frozen but after a grand day out !!Many thanks to our mates in Wrexham Scooter Club for once again organising a spectacular ride . Llangollen Ride ,Wrexham S.C.
