Six scooters left Clubbies at 10.30 for the fifty mile ride to Leek .Gary Clarke(sx200)Bernie and Tracey(sx200),Eugeneand Will (jet 200)Mike Wilford (li 150)Mark(px125) and me (tv200). We picked up Gavin at the rugby club on his t5 on the route out of Chester . The air temp was cold despite the sunshine but as we have said before the scooter engines really sing along on cold ,damp air. We met up with four lads from wrexham on the approach to Nantwich ,one of whom managed to hit an orange lane marker, bounce off the kerb and end up in the middle of the road .He was a bit scraped, but unhurt .His t5 had scratched panels and the front brake leverwas broken off. We were told the panels on both sides were scratched because he fell off yesterday as well !!
We arrived in Leek about 12.30 and just managed to squeeze into the Square behind the red lion pub ,the focal point of the do . Iwould guess a couple of hudred scooters ,with a lot of "fully moded". The band was " Debonair "and started up ten minutes after we arrived, with alot of good "sooter" tunes . The Hog Roast was a bargain at £2 and really delicious, all in all an excellent venue ,with more than the normal number of dealers stalls for a one day show . We left at three and some of us called in the Durham Heiffer onthe way back to have a drink and a bite with Ade and Lisa and family . A good scootering day ,no rain ,mostly sunshine .I clocked 140 miles ,so the Chester ones did 100 roundtrip.
