Why do weather forecasts always go wrong ? It was supposed to be dry for most of the day with a chance of the odd shower - WRONG. However 4 scooters left Chester (sorry Bernie + Tracey nearly went without you) giving Tommo a wave as we passed his shop in Saltney, then meeting up with the North Wales lads at Deeside Leisure Centre which made a total of 11 scoooters in total for the run up the coast road. Didn't catch the owners name but there was a newly finished GP in yellow ochre with plenty of mirrors on it's first run out after being built. We had a stop at the Petrol Heads cafe at Bagillt, which is a handy little place it's just a pity it's not a bit further on.
By the time we eventually pulled into the Robin Hood Camp the scooters were getting ready for the rideout, which most of us didn't do this year. Big thanks to Peter and family and Dave Sheehan for inviting us back to their caravan for a nice warming brew which was very welcome. The trade stands at Rhyl have progressively got more and more over the last few years and this year there must have been 10 or 11 stands, filling the field completely so plenty to have a look at. Unfortunately the rain returned heavier than ever which pushed the scooterists into the bar to keep dry !!! As the rain didn't want to stop, we decided to make a run for home about 3pm making a very wet and unpleasant run back, but you can't win them all.
